“Do not turn to the right or the left; remove your foot from evil.”(Proverbs 4:27)
COMMENT: The other day I decided to visit an inmate. I had traversed that rural area many, many times, however something happened that had never happened before. When I got close to the prison, there was a fork in the road and I was supposed to go straight ahead. My mind was not on what I was doing and I almost followed the cars in front of me as they went to the left. I caught myself just in time from taking the route that would have put me far away from my intended destination. I should have been more focused on where I wanted to go instead of allowing my mind to wander. In our Christian journey, we can’t afford to let our minds wander and blindly follow this world system. Each day that the Lord gives us our “marching orders” we are to live a life obedient to Jesus, Our Commander in Chief. As our Lead Scripture tells us, we are not to turn to the right or the left.
SCRIPTURE STUDY: Romans 12:1, 2
WISE SONG LYRICS: SHEPHERD OF MY SOUL, I GIVE YOU FULL CONTROL. WHEREVER YOU MAY LEAD I WILL FOLLOW. I HAVE MADE THE CHOICE TO LISTEN FOR YOUR VOICE, WHEREVER YOU MAY LEAD I WILL GO.
