COMMENT: Would you happen to know the most popular TV program in America today? Well, if you said CSI you are absolutely correct! Not unlike NBC’s “Law and Order”, the popularity of CSI has “given birth” to two other shows, CSI Miami and CSI New York. Audiences seem to be enthralled with forensic science. If you have seen that original CSI, you know they come on with a haunting theme that goes like this: “Who are you, Who are you, Who, Who?!” (By the way, I happened to be switching the radio dial the other day and I was surprised to find the show’s theme is part of a recording by a rock group.) I suspect that theme was chosen because, through their endeavors, the cast attempts to find out who did the crime by following the clues left behind and to discover the identity of unidentified corpses. It is imperative for us Christians to know who we are in Christ. I like the way Joyce Meyer puts it: YOUR ‘WHO” DETERMINES YOUR “DO”. If you agree with some theology that is floating around that says “I am just a poor sinner saved by grace.” there is a possibility that you will continue living like you did before your conversion. However, if you become aware that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Cor.5:21) and you really get that fact deep into your “knower”, you will have the propensity to practice righteousness as 1 John 2:29 advises.
