Don’t Go Back! by Gene McGuire (Wednesday, March 19, 2008)
“So they said to one another, ‘Let us select a leader and return to Egypt’. ” (Numbers 14:4)
COMMENT: I was listening to the tape of a sermon that my Pastor, Amos Dodge, made almost 20 years ago; the exact date was 9/11/88. Pastor Dodge commented on the Israelites’ reluctance to believe God’s Word, step out in faith and face the giants in the Promised Land. Instead, they preferred to go back into slavery where things were familiar, more comfortable and carried fewer risks. He went on to state that we Christians are often like the Israelites because we are unaware of who we really are in Christ. Some find it easer to return to the sameness and security of our former life of bondage. This is the Pastor’s advice to any Believer who may be a little nervous about walking by faith. . . .in his own words. “Let God’s Word begin to transform your mind. Find a promise in God’s Word about your life and life situation, memorize it, put it on the mirror, put it on your visor and quote it day and night.”

WISE SAYING: THE “UN”MANIFESTED WORD CAN CHANGE THE MANIFESTED CIRCUMSTANCES.
Do you want a Miracle? by Gene McGuire (Tuesday, March 18, 2008)
“For with God nothing will be impossible.” (Luke 1:37)
COMMENT: A couple of startling events got my full attention a few weeks ago. Firstly, in Miami, a premature baby, only slightly longer than a ballpoint pen at birth, was sent home from the hospital after 4 months of intensive care. Amillia Taylor was born at 21 weeks and six days and weighed just under 10 ounces and measured 9.5 inches in length at birth. Secondly, a woman, while swimming at Mauritius, lost her class ring. A professional diver found the ring and it was returned to her. Now that would not be so sensational except for the fact that the ring had been lost for 20 years! If things like that can happen in the natural, why are we so reluctant to believe God for extraordinary things that He may have put in our hearts. Have the courage to step out on faith and do the seemingly impossible. Start your own business, apply for that promotion, go into the ministry. Do anything that you’ve been afraid to do and you know that God has called you to do – JUST DO IT!

Don’t Lose Your Grip! by Gene McGuire (Monday, March 17, 2008)
Today’s message is based on a teaching by Joyce Meyer.
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Phil.3:13,14)
COMMENT: As children of God, we all work for perfection, but being only dust, we often fail. But what is your reaction when that happens? Do you get down on yourself and grieve for a couple of days trying to pay penitence for your sin or do you run to Jesus, confess and repent? Not that we should just slough off our sins.. . .godly sorrow brings about repentance. However, we should not wallow in grief over them. Don’t be led by your feelings but by what the Word of God says about you. Many people carry a root of shame in their lives that produces grief every time they don’t produce perfectly. We need to confess the Word out of our mouths concerning who we are in Christ to overcome those negative feelings. Your confession will have a greater impact on you if you personalize it. You might want to say something like this:”I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. ” (Romans 5:19) “I am a new creation in Christ, old things have passed away and all things have become new.” (2Cor. 5:17) “God’s mercy and love for me never ceases.” (Psalm 107:1) “When I confessed my sin to God, He forgave me and I am cleansed of all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
SCRIPTURE STUDY: Psalm 103:14, 2 Cor. 7:10
