“If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” (John 15:7)

COMMENT: How would you like for someone to give you a signed check with your name on it and the individual tells you to fill in the amount that you would like to receive. Of course you are a little skeptical, so you call the bank named on the document and you rejoice when you are told that there are unlimited funds available for you. Well, I declare that our Lead Scripture is in a similar nature to that blank check we described above. However, as I see it, there are two qualifications necessary. We must abide (remain stable and fixed) in Jesus and in His word. Christians are to be in regular fellowship with the Lord and become consistent students of the Word of God. With these two factor intact, the Lord can be assured that whatever we ask will be according to His will because we will definitely know what His will is.

“. . .the little foxes that ruin the vineyard. . . (Song of Solomon 2:15)

COMMENT: Since I love “The Great Indoors”, I don’t know if the following is true or not. However, I’ve been told that the reason the little foxes spoil the vine is because they are not tall enough to reach the grapes; so they chew on the bottom of the plant making it fall down, thus they can then “chow down”. By doing that, they effectively kill the plant. In 2 Samuel 11:1, the “little fox” in king David started ‘nibbling’ on the vine when he stayed home and didn’t go to war as was the manner of kings. One night the ‘fox’ chewed a little more when the king became a “Peeping Tom” and viewed Bathsheba taking a bath. His hormones began to rage and he eventually committed adultery. When David found out that Bathsheba was pregnant, he attempted to get her husband to “be with her” to cover his sin. Since the soldier had integrity and would not “visit” his wife while his comrades were still in the field, king David had him killed and married his widow. Unrepentant sin in our lives, seemingly minute, can escalate in increments and end up sending us down that proverbial “slippery slope”.

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Dear Friends and Family,
Earlier this week I was out shopping and I saw a sign in a bookstore which really started me to thinking; it said, JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON. Many times we get so caught up with the hustle and bustle of the Season that we lose sight of the fact that Christmas celebrates the birthday of Jesus Christ, The Savior.
He was sent to earth by God the Father as a sacrifice so that we ALL could be saved from our sins and spend eternal life with Him. (John 3:16)

You’ll recall that in the Old Testament the high priests were continuously sacrificing animals to cover the sins of the Jewish people. Well, Jesus’ blood was shed for all of us, one time for all times. Every human being has the choice of either accepting or rejecting this free gift of Salvation. (Ephesians 2:8) I don’t want to sound like a “Fire and Brimstone” preacher, but that CHOICE will determine where you will spend eternity.

May God bless you ABUNDANTLY in 2008. May He take care of ALL your needs, wants and desires. HE IS ABLE ! ! !
THE END************
