“Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” (James 1:2)

COMMENT:  Are you like me? When I first read that Scripture I couldn’t make heads nor tails out of it. When hard times come, I should be happy? Secondly, If I take the Word at face value, everyone should be in possession of great patience because trials and tribulations are integral parts of life. I now have a fuller understanding. When trials come, in the power of the Holy Spirit, we must “employ” patience and endurance. That way long-suffering will be cultivated. I think the joy comes from seeing the Fruit of the Spirit being manifested in our lives.

WISE SAYING: A SETBACK IS JUST A SETUP FOR A COMEBACK

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37)

COMMENT: A few years I had a phone conversation with a friend and I mentioned that my garbage disposal was broken and had been that way for a couple of years. He told me about a restart button of the side of the the disposal that I should investigate. I pushed the button and PRESTO, it started to work! I had a big laugh at my ignorance; I didn’t know how to turn on the power. But it is no laughing matter when we Christians neglect the power of God that is available to us.
Today’s Lead Scripture tells us that, through Christ, we are more than conquerors. Well, why is it that many of us are living defeated lives? I’ll answer my own question! Some lack the faith to believe what God says about who they are in Him. They allow circumstances, feelings and opinions of others to have the final say-so in their lives. Let’s get into the Word, find out who we are in Christ, and write it down, put it in your eyes, put it in your ears, put it in your heart and let it come out of your mouth.
You do know that faith comes by hearing the Word of God?
