“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
COMMENT: Every year there are many graduates from medical schools across the country, however last May Kellie Lim’s graduation made big news. You see this young woman in Los Angeles had lost both legs and an arm as a child; she became a triple amputee at age 8 because of bacterial meningitis. “The Michigan native, 26, does not use a prosthetic arm and manages to perform most medical procedures–including giving injections and taking blood–with one arm. She walks on a pair of prosthetic legs.” (The Washington Times. Monday, May 28, 2007)
Some time ago, Armstrong Sperry wrote a book titled “Call it Courage”. If he wanted to write a sequel, I nominate Kellie Lim as the subject. At a very early age she could had wallowed in self-pity and just wasted her life. Some of us are paying too much attention to a failed past instead of believing the wonderful promises of God. Paul wrote our Lead Scripture, but it is a promise for every single Christian.
I don’t know what encouraged Kellie to overcome her handicap and to move onto great heights; what I do know is that we saints have a Father who can work miracles in our lives. . . .all we have to do is provide the faith.

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37)

COMMENT: A few years I had a phone conversation with a friend and I mentioned that my garbage disposal was broken and had been that way for a couple of years. He told me about a restart button of the side of the the disposal that I should investigate. I pushed the button and PRESTO, it started to work! I had a big laugh at my ignorance; I didn’t know how to turn on the power. But it is no laughing matter when we Christians neglect the power of God that is available to us.
Today’s Lead Scripture tells us that, through Christ, we are more than conquerors. Well, why is it that many of us are living defeated lives? I’ll answer my own question! Some lack the faith to believe what God says about who they are in Him. They allow circumstances, feelings and opinions of others to have the final say-so in their lives. Let’s get into the Word, find out who we are in Christ, and write it down, put it in your eyes, put it in your ears, put it in your heart and let it come out of your mouth.
You do know that faith comes by hearing the Word of God?

WISE SAYING: CIRCUMSTANCES MERELY PROVIDE YOU WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO REVEAL THE EXTENT OF YOUR FAITH IN THE PROMISES OF GOD.
Just a thought, not a sermon.

“And God saw that it was good.” (Genesis 1:18)
COMMENT: Yes, you are right! Since our Lead Scripture is in Genesis 1, this must be Creation! And since God is perfect, that which He created was perfect also. I imagine He was expressing the same kind of self-satisfaction an artist might have looking at a competed work  Well, I am not an artist, and I don’t play one on TV either ; my wife, Rose-Marie, is the artist in the family. However, occasionally I get the same feeling of satisfaction that an artist gets after he looks at his finished product.
After laboring to cut the grass on my lawn, I stand back and survey my accomplishment and really feel good.
Likewise, I am sure that God is really pleased when He looks down on us, His creations, and sees us practicing righteousness.(1 John 3:7) He knows that we are only dust and will not be perfected until we meet Jesus face to face; but when He perceives that we are working out our salvation with fear and trembling, I am sure it puts a smile on His face.
