IN 2011, LET’S SHOW MANY THE PATHWAY TO HEAVEN
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.” (2 Cor. 4:16)
COMMENT: I know that there may not be many of you who remember this song because it goes back to the 40’s; but judging by our present culture, it really is up to date. Here’s part of that ditty: “There’ll be a change in the weather, a change in the sea. Right now there’ll be a change in me. Nobody wants you when you’re old and gray. There’re gonna be some changes made today.” As you know, our Nation is facing a vanity-fueled epidemic with people getting lip plumps, brow lifts and “Gummy Bear” breast implants. The experts say that cosmetic surgeries will increase fivefold in a few years. “More than 55 million cosmetic surgery procedures will be performed in 2015, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons predicted – more than quadruple the number performed in 2005.” (The Washington Times, Sept. 29, 2008) The world is obsessed with beautifying the body and “turning back the clock”. It is so easy to get caught up in that craziness. . . .yours truly included! I was beholden to Michael Jordan for making the bald head stylish; that way I could disguise my bald spot and dispense with my gray hair at the same time. “Just for Men” took care of my mustache and beard. Recently I made a decision to be what I am on the outside and concentrate on becoming more like Jesus on the inside. If you haven’t already, won’t you join me?
POST SCRIPT: Please pray for me. I am so amazed that I have been able to grow this big Afro at age 75 that I somewhat dread going to the barbershop.
